Delivery
How much is delivery?
£6.95 on UK orders under £150, free on orders of £150 and over. Items 2400mm or longer carry a £49 oversize surcharge per order, shown at checkout.
How long will it take?
2–4 working days for standard parcels; 3–7 working days for palletised or oversize goods, where the carrier will contact you to book a day.
Will the driver bring it inside?
Parcels, yes — to your door. Pallet deliveries are kerbside only; the driver can't take goods indoors or upstairs. Please have someone available.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Not at present.
Choosing a shelf
How much weight will it hold?
Every product page states a safe working load per shelf. That figure assumes correct fixing into a sound wall with the load spread evenly — see our load ratings and fixings guide.
Will it work on plasterboard?
Into a stud, yes, comfortably. Into plasterboard alone, use metal spring toggles or heavy-duty hollow-wall anchors and expect 10–20kg per fixing. For anything heavier, fix to studs or masonry.
Are fixings included?
Each listing says exactly what's in the box. Where fixings are supplied they suit solid masonry or timber studs; specialist anchors for aerated block, plasterboard or dot-and-dab are rarely included with any brand, and you should buy those to suit your wall.
What's the difference between a floating shelf and a bracket shelf?
A floating shelf hides its supports inside the board, so it looks cleaner but generally carries less and demands a stronger wall. A bracket shelf shows its supports and carries considerably more for the same money.
Can I cut a shelf to length?
Many solid timber and steel shelves can be trimmed, and the listing will say so. Cutting is at your own risk — a cut shelf can't be returned, and cutting may void the load rating if it removes a support point.
Do you do made-to-measure?
For some ranges, yes. Email support@homartuk.com with the dimensions and finish you need.
Orders and payment
Can I change or cancel my order?
If it hasn't shipped, yes — email us immediately with your order number. After dispatch, use your 14-day cancellation right on the returns page.
Do you take trade orders?
Yes. See our trade and contract page for volume pricing and scheduled deliveries.
Can I collect?
Not currently — we're an online-only operation, which is part of how we keep prices where they are.
Returns
What if I change my mind?
You have 14 days from delivery to cancel, and a further 14 days to send the goods back. Change-of-mind return postage is yours; faulty or wrong goods are ours.
Something arrived damaged.
Photograph it and email us within 48 hours. We'll replace the item or the damaged part at no cost.
A part is missing.
Don't send the unit back — email us and we'll post the missing bracket, bolt or fixings pack out to you.
Product care
How do I clean it?
Powder-coated steel and laminate: damp cloth, mild detergent, dry off. Real timber: dry or barely damp cloth, and re-oil occasionally if it's an oiled finish. Never use abrasive pads or solvent cleaners on a coated finish.
Can I use these in a bathroom or outdoors?
Only where the listing says the finish is suitable. Untreated timber and standard powder coating will not last in a wet room or outside.
